65th Anniversary of VE Day in Europe Tour
It was announced in the October 2009 edition of the 'SAR BUGLE' that a tour is in the process of being organized for those interested in attending the VE Day celebrations in Europe. A timetable has been worked out by Major Danny Mcleod and Gordon Burwood of DH Tours. The tour will be 16 days in duration with time to relax while taking side trips if you wish. There will be a number of Memorial Plaque dedications as well as the 65th VE Day celebrations with the Royal Family in Appeldorn, in addition to other celebrations in France, Belgium and Germany.
Arrangements are being made to have a medical doctor accompany the Tour.
The Tour starts on April 25, 2010 and ends with folks leaving for the trip back to Canada on May 10th.
Places to be visited include Caen, Ypres, St. Lambert, Vimy Ridge, Menin Gate, Brugge, Bergen op Zoom, Nijmegen and Appeldorn. There will be plenty of time for sightseeing. The places listed are just a few of the many the tour will take in. There are a number of special dinners also. The Tour is outlined in the October edition of the SAR Bugle.
Complete details of the tour, including costs, can be obtained by contacting Major W.J. (Danny) Mcleod at 93 Seaforth Road, Kingston, Ontario, K7M 1E1. Phone number is (613) 546-7045 or e-mail at McLeod@sympatico.ca The form that was included with the 'Bugle' can also be faxed to (613) 546-7047.

2008 reunion - The Association returned to Victoria, B.C. in October for a successful Reunion. The weather cooperated and we had 80 members at the Regimental Dinner after a great tour of the Canadian Forces Base, Esquimalt. First steps were taken to join our Association with the Regiment and Foundation.

2009 reunion - We returned to the Westin in Edmonton for our 69th Anniversary and Reunion. We had a well organized tour of the Edmonton Garrison. Finalized our amalgamation arrangements and elected a new Committee under Swatty Wotherspoon, President, Wayne Cameron, Vice President, Mike Crawford, Lisa Robson, Joe Strathern Jr. and Dr. David Hyttenrauch. Calgary was chosen for the next Reunion unless a 2010 Tour to celebrate VE Day takes place.
